Dutch Newsletter Facts on Fats
and Task Force
Facts on Fats publishes a newsletter once every quarter. One section in this newsletter is devoted to the Task Force Improvement Fatty Acid Composition.
The Task Force is an initiative of the Product Board for Margarine, Fats and Oils (MVO) with the objective to reduce the content of trans fatty acids and saturated fatty acids in food products in the Netherlands. The Task Force is a partnership of suppliers and customers of vegetable fats and oils. In this edition The Task Force reports about two recent activities in the bakery sector.
Recently, the November edition of the newsletter of Facts on Fats in collaboration with the Task Force Improvement Fatty Acid Composition has been published. In this edition, attention is being paid to a better fatty acid composition of snacks, frying fats for the foodservice market, ice cream and prawn crackers. All these improvements can be found – so it is said in the newsletter - in the relaunched Best Practices Online of the FNLI, the Federations of the Dutch Food Industry, in the specific module on fatty acid improvement. Futhermore in this newsletter, an article on the 7th edition of the Euro Fed Lipid congres, a meeting between scientists and technologists from universities and companies to combine knowledge about oils and fats.
